On 7th May 2023, The Veterans Game will be hosting a charity football match to raise funds for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through Phoenix Heroes.
The event will take place at Crowborough Athletic and will feature two teams of military veterans.
The proceeds from the event will go towards providing support and resources for veterans struggling with PTSD.
PTSD is a debilitating condition that affects many veterans who have experienced traumatic events during their time in service. It can cause a range of symptoms, including flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and anxiety, and it can have a significant impact on a person's daily life.
This charity football match is an opportunity for the community to come together to support veterans and their families. By attending the event, you can help to raise awareness of the issue of PTSD and show your support for those who have served our country.
The match itself will be a competitive and entertaining affair, featuring two teams of military veterans who will battle it out for victory. The players will include former service personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. There will be plenty of action on the pitch, as well as a great atmosphere off it.
In addition to the football match, there will be plenty of other activities to enjoy throughout the day. There will be a raffle, our local fire brigade (subject to call out!), as well as food vendors serving up delicious snacks and drinks.
Phoenix Heroes will be the beneficiaries of the charity football match. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Phoenix Heroes, a non-profit organization that provides support and resources for veterans struggling with PTSD.
